Hmm, second post.. Feel kinda stupid writing this. Anyway. Gonna write about the librarian camp I went to, umm... on the 30th and 31st of May. Had loads of fun.. The first day I reached school at about 6.09am, crazy early. Well technically the camp didn't start until 7.30am but My group had to reach school earlier to practice our dance. We didn't practice at all before that. Talk about procrastinating. Anyway, I never should have reached there so early cuz the others weren't even there yet! What cheek.. So we only started practicing at about 6.35am. Our group (Scarecrows) were the only group dancing to a slow song. I wished our group leader would pick a song with a faster beat, like.. well, dunno, a Guns N' Roses song? Worst still, it was a CHINESE song!! CHINESE!!!!! Can you believe it?! Of all the songs to choose from.. Ah, well, whatever. So we were dancing and dancing and it was 7.30am. Then we all lined up and went up to the hall where the camp was gonna be held. We started with a couple songs and a few speeches from my math teacher and the President. Oh my God I just remembered, I forgot to write journal entries for the past few days.. I'm wandering here.. Anyway, after the speeches and songs we.... did what? Forgot. And its just 4 days after the camp.. Oops. I think we played this game where a few people had their hands or legs tied up, I had my left leg tied up with my friend's (Chai Fong) right leg. It was so hard to walk! Oh yeah! Forgot to mention that this year's theme was "Together As One". Ok. So the game went like this- Two people (leaders) from each group were asked to sit together at one end of the hall and yell out commands to the other members (knights) who, by the way, are all tied up now. The knights then walk or jump according to the instructions yelled out. We lost. Haha. After that we had a seminar by Pn. Sally, this really nice teacher. Or was it a semi-seminar? Was kinda short. We conducted a few activities like the trust fall exercise and stuff, all teaching us stuff like how we should trust our team mates and the power of our subconscious mind. It was fun. Then we had lunch. Then we got scolded a bit. By the way, our group's banner got snatched while we were having lunch. And our name tags got snatched while we were painting the banner. Which was before lunch. So we had to do a little dance to get our name tags back. And we had to sing a song to get our banner back (but that was at the end of the day). Then we had station games. "Angels and Demons". Isn't that the name of that Tom Hanks movie? the Da Vinci Code sequel. Anyway, senior Tien Zhi (is that how I'm supposed to address the seniors? Sounds a bit stupid) was the Angel and senior Chun Woei and senior Li Jing were the Demons. All the Demons had to do was just take a step forward to send everyone running for their lives. Well, maybe not Chun Woei, though. I mean, the members of my group (the Form 1 and 2 members) didn't even know he was one of the demons. We were on our way to the next station and he appeared, holding that whats-that-thing behind his back, walking towards them (the Form 1 and 2 members) and they just kept strolling on nonchalantly, without a care in the world. I was torn between choosing whether to laugh out loud or warn them, cuz i was afraid if I did either one Chun Woei would either "capture" me or them. So I just kinda signalled them to RUN!!!! But nothing! They just stared back at me like I'd just grown an extra head. Luckily no one got "captured". We played (was that playing?) until about 4.45pm then we went up to the hall. Seniors then lectured us on the importance of team work and that winning isn't everything. But to be quite honest, if you really wanna make it in the real world, winning IS everything. Team work's just gonna be playing second fiddle. So that's the first day of camp. I'm 100% sure I've left out tons of stuff... Hmm.. I'm not very good at writing these stuff.. Anyway.
Ok. Second day. Arrived at school at 6.40am. Again, to practice the dance. Went up to the hall at 7.30am, like yesterday. First thing was the dance!! The Scarecrows were the third last group to go onstage. Groups that weren't onstage had to imitate the performing group. I dunno about you, but I find these things kinda stupid. I mean, I know some people really like that sense of togetherness, doing these, but frankly, its not my idea of a good time. But what choice did I have? After the dancing came the.... Forgot. Ok. I'll fill in in the next post or something. My bro's here and he's a nosy parker. Til next time..
